VERTICAL TURNING AND DRILLING CENTER WDC‑T

The NILES-SIMMONS WDC‑T is a com­pact tur­ning and dril­ling cen­ter spe­ci­fi­cally desi­gned for per­forming all tur­ning, dril­ling, thre­a­ding, and coun­ter­sin­king ope­ra­ti­ons on high-speed rail­way wheels. The tur­ning and dril­ling cen­ter is based on a cross-bed design.

The machine fea­tures a swi­veling head that allows ope­ra­ti­ons with head tilts from +16° to ‑110°. Thanks to the direct rotary and swi­vel axes, the WDC offers ideal con­di­ti­ons for the hig­hest pre­cis­ion at the work­piece. For 3‑axis machi­ning or ope­ra­tion in posi­tio­ning mode, the rotary and swi­vel axes can be hydrau­li­cally clam­ped in any posi­tion. Using rota­ting tools, wheel dia­me­ters ran­ging from 600 mm to 1250 mm can be machined.
