On the one hand, the ope\u00adra\u00adtor trusts in the safe ope\u00adra\u00adtion of a machine and thus in the care of the manu\u00adfac\u00adtu\u00adrer. On the other hand, the equip\u00adment sup\u00adplier relies on the exper\u00adtise of inter\u00adnal or exter\u00adnal safety experts to design and cir\u00adcu\u00adlate their machi\u00adnes safely in accordance with the appli\u00adca\u00adble stan\u00addards and direc\u00adti\u00adves. The com\u00adpany the\u00adr\u00ade\u00adfore deci\u00added to have the docu\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion for seve\u00adral machine tool types adapted by safety experts from Wie\u00adland Elec\u00adtric. \u201cWe have been loo\u00adking for a relia\u00adble safety ser\u00advice pro\u00advi\u00adder for quite some time, because the so-cal\u00adled \u2018view from out\u00adside\u2019 is very important to us in risk assess\u00adment and veri\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adtion,\u201d explains Dirk Wer\u00adner, team coor\u00addi\u00adna\u00adtor elec\u00adtri\u00adcal design at Niles-Sim\u00admons. \u201cWie\u00adland Elec\u00adtric pro\u00adved in a first pro\u00adject that we are in good hands here when it comes to safety ser\u00advice, which is why we finally recei\u00adved a fol\u00adlow-up order for two more machine types.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>CE pro\u00adcess for a CNC machi\u00adning center<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Spe\u00adci\u00adfi\u00adcally, Wieland\u2019s safety con\u00adsul\u00adtants have accom\u00adpa\u00adnied the CE pro\u00adcess, first for a small CNC machi\u00adning cen\u00adter from Niles-Sim\u00admons and then for two other machi\u00adnes of the same series. The machine-spe\u00adci\u00adfic stan\u00addards for the cor\u00adre\u00adspon\u00adding machine type were sel\u00adec\u00adted and applied, in this case the C stan\u00addard DIN EN ISO 23125 (tur\u00adning machi\u00adnes). In addi\u00adtion, the experts also used B stan\u00addards such as DIN EN ISO 13849\u20131 (func\u00adtional safety) and DIN EN ISO 11161 (inte\u00adgra\u00adted manu\u00adfac\u00adtu\u00adring sys\u00adtems) to imple\u00adment safety.<\/p>\n<p>In the course of the risk assess\u00adment, Wie\u00adland Electric\u2019s safety con\u00adsul\u00adtants iden\u00adti\u00adfied and eva\u00adlua\u00adted all hazards and defi\u00adned prac\u00adti\u00adca\u00adble risk reduc\u00adtion mea\u00adsu\u00adres which com\u00adply with the applied stan\u00addards. In addi\u00adtion, a safety con\u00adcept was also drawn up for the respec\u00adtive machine types.<\/p>\n<p>This was fol\u00adlo\u00adwed by the veri\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adtion of the safety func\u00adtions of the machine tools accor\u00adding to DIN EN ISO 13849\u20131. In order to pro\u00advide mathe\u00adma\u00adti\u00adcal proof that the exe\u00adcu\u00adtion of func\u00adtional safety at least cor\u00adre\u00adsponds to the per\u00adfor\u00admance levels defi\u00adned from the risk assess\u00adment, the Wie\u00adland experts eva\u00adlua\u00adted all rele\u00advant cir\u00adcuit dia\u00adgrams, docu\u00adments, and parts lists, deter\u00admi\u00adned the safety cha\u00adrac\u00adte\u00adristics of the com\u00adpon\u00adents used, and con\u00adfirmed the veri\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adtion using a soft\u00adware tool. In the last step, the ope\u00adra\u00adting manu\u00adals of the machine tools were che\u00adcked. These docu\u00adments are cru\u00adcial for the machine user to be able to ope\u00adrate machi\u00adnes safely in accordance with the regulations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Modu\u00adlar sys\u00adtem for risk assessment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bern\u00adhard Scholz, sales engi\u00adneer at Wie\u00adland Elec\u00adtric, knows only too well that the sub\u00adject of safety is time-con\u00adsum\u00ading and resource-inten\u00adsive: \u201cHonestly, very few machine and plant manu\u00adfac\u00adtu\u00adr\u00aders have time to deal with machine safety inten\u00adsi\u00advely and com\u00adpre\u00adhen\u00adsi\u00advely,\u201d says B.
