About 100 invi\u00adted guests, inclu\u00adding Prime Minis\u00adter Michael Kret\u00adschmer, NSH share\u00adhol\u00adder and Chair\u00adman of the Board Prof. Dr.-Ing. E.h. Hans J. Nau\u00admann and the Mayor of the City D\u00f6beln Hans-Joa\u00adchim Ege\u00adrer, accepted the invi\u00adta\u00adtion to the 100th anni\u00adver\u00adsary of RASOMA Machine Tools GmbH \u2013 which was for good reason. RASOMA not only cele\u00adbra\u00adted an anni\u00adver\u00adsary, but also its history of cou\u00adrage to rise again, even after serious set\u00adbacks. We take this as an oppor\u00adtu\u00adnity and take a look at their history.<\/p>\n

This beg\u00adins with Johan\u00adnes Lie\u00adbert and Arthur G\u00fcr\u00adt\u00adler. On 29 May 1919 they acqui\u00adred a fac\u00adtory pro\u00adperty and began to build flat grin\u00adding machi\u00adnes and, after a short time, various lathes. A suc\u00adcess story beg\u00adins. Only ten years later, the 2000th lathe left the fac\u00adtory. On average this means 16 machi\u00adnes per month since 1919. The legen\u00addary VDF stan\u00addard lathe is also built by Lie\u00adbert & G\u00fcr\u00adt\u00adler in the early 1940s.<\/p>\n

With the capi\u00adtu\u00adla\u00adtion in 1945 the dis\u00admant\u00adling of the com\u00adpany began and thus the tem\u00adpo\u00adrary end of mecha\u00adni\u00adcal engi\u00adnee\u00adring in D\u00f6beln. Only five years later was the com\u00adpany again able to pro\u00adduce a mecha\u00adni\u00adcal lathe. It moved upwards again. After the pri\u00advate com\u00adpany was con\u00adver\u00adted into a com\u00adpany with state par\u00adti\u00adci\u00adpa\u00adtion, the pro\u00adduc\u00adtion of lea\u00adding and trac\u00adtion spindle lathes was adjus\u00adted in order to con\u00adcen\u00adtrate on the auto\u00adma\u00adted lathes.<\/p>\n

Howe\u00adver, the next set\u00adback came again. The com\u00adpany was natio\u00adna\u00adli\u00adsed in 1972 and given the name VEB Werk\u00adzeug\u00adma\u00adschi\u00adnen\u00adfa\u00adbrik D\u00f6beln. In 1980 the com\u00adpany was trans\u00adfor\u00admed into VEB RASOMA D\u00f6beln in the course of the GDR\u2019s for\u00adma\u00adtion of a com\u00adbine. After unsuc\u00adcessful attempts by the Treu\u00adhand to find an inves\u00adtor, the com\u00adpany is liqui\u00adda\u00adted in 1993. Mr. J\u00fcr\u00adgen Kamm and Mr. Peter Kai\u00adser sub\u00adse\u00adquently came up with an MBO con\u00adcept and take over the busi\u00adness. This was the second time that the com\u00adpany was saved from its sup\u00adpo\u00adsed dis\u00adap\u00adpearance. RASOMA Machine Tools GmbH was foun\u00added. Shortly the\u00adre\u00adaf\u00adter, tur\u00adning machi\u00adnes were again deve\u00adlo\u00adped, pro\u00addu\u00adced and mar\u00adke\u00adted, initi\u00adally the ver\u00adti\u00adcal tur\u00adning machine DS 200, which is still being built today \u2013 con\u00adti\u00adnuously fur\u00adther deve\u00adlo\u00adped and modernized.<\/p>\n

In 2002, the com\u00adpany suf\u00adfe\u00adred its third serious set\u00adback with a see\u00admingly hope\u00adl\u00adess future: The com\u00adpany was mas\u00adsi\u00advely floo\u00added by the huge flood.<\/p>\n

\u00bb<\/span>We didn\u2019t know what to do next. We stood up to our knees in the water and nobody knew what will happen next. Even after the water was gone, remained huge mud masses . In our mind we gave up the company\u00ab, remembers Managing director Marcus Kamm.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Only a few weeks after the flood, some\u00adthing very impres\u00adsive hap\u00adpened: the entire work\u00adforce showed full rea\u00addi\u00adness to rebuild RASOMA. And not only that:<\/p>\n

\u00bb<\/span>We received support from NILES-SIMMONS Industrieanalagen from Chemnitz to rebuild the machines. Even competitors helped us. This is unimaginable today and were very big actions for which we are very grateful\u00ab says Kamm.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In the same year machi\u00adnes could be built again due to this hel\u00adpful\u00adness. In 2004 a new, modern assem\u00adbly hall was inau\u00adgu\u00adra\u00adted. Four years later, new offices for sales were built and ano\u00adther assem\u00adbly hall was also ope\u00adned in 2009.<\/p>\n

NILES-SIMMONS-HEGENSCHEIDT GmbH also lear\u00adned of this cohe\u00adsion and per\u00adsis\u00adtence and acqui\u00adred the majo\u00adrity of the shares in 2016.<\/p>\n

In the same year, Peter Kai\u00adser said good\u00adbye, who had worked for the com\u00adpany for 60 years and had been mana\u00adging part\u00adner until then.<\/p>\n
