And Action! – We proudly present … The new NILES-Success-Story about our customer OTTO FUCHS

  • News

Our new video documentary about our successful customer relationship and the latest jointly realized project with our customer OTTO FUCHS KG is finally online.

Already at the end of summer last year we had the pleasure to look behind the scenes of the OTTO FUCHS business at the company’s site in Meinerzhagen together with the film team of our video partner Video Vision.

The aim was to film footage for the documentation of the highly automated production cell we recently delivered to OTTO FUCHS, consisting of a TurnMill machining center N50MC and a Kuka robot for loading and unloading of all workpieces via the machine front. The core of the project was the fully automated machining of double, triple, and quadruple titanium and nickel engine rings for the aerospace sector.

Rene Casagrande, segment manager in the engine disc production at company OTTO FUCHS, summarizes the challenges of the project as follows:

There was a requirement for a machine with double spindles to ultimately achieve the efficient production of titanium and nickel components. Important aspects are the high cutting performance, which is the main focus in the context of titanium and nickel machining, the high level of automation, where we have complex automation practically from a double ring to the finished product and also important is the traceability: the fact that there is automatic linking means that traceability is 100% from start to finish.”

The project is already a success story, not least because of the high technological requirements implemented. It not only involves highly efficient and modern production for engine parts, but also a very satisfied customer.

Casagrande summarises: “We chose NILES-SIMMONS because the machining of titanium and nickel components is very challenging and we were looking for a partner who could precisely meet all these requirements, especially in combination with the aerospace industry. In retrospect, it has been an absolutely round project, be it technologically, or also with regard to the optimization of the systems and further development. We continue to have the full support and a very great cooperation and I can say that NILES-SIMMONS is a very good partner.”

We are therefore all the more pleased to be able to present the finished film here right now.

Once again, we would like to thank our customer OTTO FUCHS KG for their great support with this film. We are already looking forward to the next joint projects and a continued trustful cooperation.
